Everyday Working Tools For Staying Mentally Fit

Welcome & Thanks

Welcome to my website. My name is Paul and I'm the author of "The Mindful Mason - Everyday Working Tools For Staying Mentally Fit". Thanks for stopping by. If there's anything I can help with or clarify about the book, please get in touch.

Let me clarify right up front that you don't need to be a Freemason to read the book or benefit from it. There are plenty of secrets in the book - but none of them Masonic!

However if you are interested in Freemasonry, and becoming a member then you can read more here.

Who? and Why?

I'm a Freemason from Surrey in the UK and custodian of @TheMindfulMason Instagram, Facebook and X accounts. I wrote this book in response to a number of articles I'd read and podcasts I'd listened to regarding mental health.

It occurred to me that the focus of many of these outlets was on the fact that #ItsOkayNotToBeOkay, that some form of mental struggle was nothing to be ashamed of, and nor was seeking help to remedy it. All of which is true and valuable.

Many comments were made about people (and men in particular) being reluctant to speak up about their struggles. We should all feel more comfortable talking about mental health and ask our friends and colleagues how they genuinely are. Again, all good and undoubtedly of benefit.

So there was a lot of good work being done to raise awareness and help people open up and be honest about their mental wellbeing. However, there was less advice on how being Mindful can help us deal with the troubles of everyday life in the 21st Century. For example, why it was that some people seemed able to cope better with stressful situations than others.

Everyday Working Tools

This is where I started to reflect on my own experiences of the past few years and how I have attempted to deal with stress and overwhelm using a variety of techniques. And it occurred to me that if these techniques were useful for me, they might be useful for others too.

From here I developed the concept for The Mindful Mason book. Breaking down the different tools into four categories covering different aspects of ourselves; Body - Mind - Soul - Spirit

Within these four areas, I explain a number of tools that you might want to consider for yourself. I explain the basics of each technique and how and why it helped me. I've tried to give you enough information so that you can have an initial try for yourself. If you find the ideas helpful then there are links in the book, and on this website, to take you into a further study of each.

Let me know what you think

I would love to hear what you think about the book and how you get on. Perhaps you have other techniques that people might find useful - get in touch. You can also use that link to leave a comment on the book - was there something that really helped or something I could have explained better, or maybe you've spotted a typo error? Whatever your reason for wanting to get in touch I'd love to hear from you.
