Written by a Freemason, but equally valuable for Masons and non-Masons alike, this book guides you through a range of everyday tools and techniques to train yourself for mental wellbeing and improved resilience, by calming body and mind and focusing on the present moment.
The Modern World provides us with many opportunities to discover ways to deal with our stresses – to investigate tools and techniques that have been used for hundreds and even thousands of years to calm the mind, to connect to our truest nature, to develop strategies for a healthier, happier more positive life. That is the aim of this book.
Divided into four sections the book takes you on a journey through various methods to improve the outlook of your Body, your Mind, your Soul, and your Spirit to help you develop a complete Mindfulness practice that you can enjoy.
Body In Balance
The key to Mindful Exercise is that every movement you make is thought about, considered and then decided upon in a very intentional and deliberate way.
Mind Matters
While many methods described in the book seek to combat the symptoms of stress and overwhelm - a racing mind, increased heart rate, feelings of anxiety etc. this section is a little different.
The Science of the Soul
Just as breath is fundamental to life, so breathwork is fundamental to Mindfulness.
Your Spiritual Centre
Anyone who seeks mastery of their craft knows that the ultimate secrets lie with the Centre.

Willam Hogarth
William Hogarth is one of Britain’s most famous painters and printer makers. He was also an enthusiastic Freemason, who really embodied what Freemasonry means – giving time, money and energy to charitable causes and in promoting younger artists.
Often overlooked as an intermediate step between Initiation and Master Mason, in this interactive presentation I take a deep-dive into the ceremony of the Second Degree and explain some important Learning aspects that many are unaware of.
In this presentation, I go through a few of the ideas given in my book “The Mindful Mason” to provide some tools to help people deal with everyday stress and overwhelm.
Hello - my name is Paul and I'm the author of The Mindful Mason, I’m a Freemason from Surrey in the UK where I'm an active member of Oak Tree Lodge.
